Merlin AKA Jesse Ross, is Laine's father. He had a prophecy made about him a long, long time ago which ended in him being immortal until the time when the elusive King Arthur is reborn. During this time he met his wife, he tells his children that she died but in all actuality she left after finding out he was immortal. He wanted his daughters to remember her fondly so he claimed she died.
